NEW MEXICO — Original Leather Art

NEW MEXICO is the first release in the 21GRAMS State Series, a body of work exploring place, identity, and story one U.S. state at a time through original leather art.

This piece draws from the high desert light, ancient pueblos, and the tension between endurance and beauty that defines the region. A figure faces forward into open space. A roadrunner stands alert. Chiles, cactus, and the desert landscape are carved and textured directly into the leather by hand using the Leather Tattooling Machine.
